Overview
Turning Lines is a Canadian co-operative of musicians, singers and songwriters. Bringing together artists with decades of experience in recording, songwriting and live performance, the project was created as a home for original songs and collaborations that cross traditional genre boundaries.
FEATURED VOCALIST: GORD MAXWELL
Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Gord Maxwell is a 45-year veteran bassist and vocalist who graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Music Performance degree in voice/opera. In 1987, he moved to Vancouver to help form the reincarnation of Juno-nominated One Horse Blue, and wrote "Hopeless Love", the first independently released single to reach number one in Canada.
One of Canada's most sought-after studio vocalists, Gord has been a signature voice on national advertising campaigns for Safeway, Superstore, Canadian Airlines and McDonald's, and has sung on recordings by artists including Chad Brownlee, Aaron Pritchett, Lisa Brokop, Karen Lee Batten, Valdy and Ian Tyson. He toured and recorded with Ian Tyson for 20 years and is now the bassist and vocalist for legendary Canadian rock band Chilliwack.
